An OEM shower enclosure drawing checklist helps a manufacturer prepare an accurate technical review and quotation. A reference photo alone cannot define dimensions, materials or the exact supply scope. The clearer the input package, the easier it is to compare quotations, approve a sample and control later revisions.
Information to Include in an OEM Inquiry
Begin with a short commercial summary: product type, estimated quantity, destination country or port, target schedule and whether the request is for a sample or a production order. YFX accepts an MOQ of one set, but the quotation and lead time depend on the selected model, dimensions, finish and customization.
Identify the requested supply scope. A complete YFX shower enclosure includes the components and model-specified glass. A shower enclosure frame and hardware kit excludes glass. If glass will be sourced locally, request the required glass dimensions and machining information as part of the technical confirmation.
Prepare the Main Product Drawing
The main drawing should show the enclosure from the front and top. Add a side view when the return panel, wall connection or hardware position is not clear. Mark the overall width and height, fixed panel dimensions, door width and opening direction. For corner or quadrant layouts, provide every wall-side dimension and the relevant radius or angle.
Use millimetres consistently. State whether dimensions refer to the finished wall opening, overall product size, profile cut length or glass size. If the drawing contains several dimension types, label each one. This avoids a common problem in which the same number is interpreted differently by the buyer and factory.
Show Installation Conditions
Include basic information about the installation area. Indicate tiled walls, shower trays, thresholds, slopes, niches and any obstruction that may affect the door. For wall-to-wall openings, provide measurements at the top, middle and bottom. Mark out-of-plumb conditions if known.
If the installation must fit an existing tray or construction detail, send the tray drawing or site detail with the enclosure drawing. The factory can then review profile positions, adjustment allowance and door clearance using the same reference.
Define Door Operation and Handing
State whether the door slides, pivots, hinges or folds. Mark the opening direction with an arrow and identify left-hand or right-hand orientation from a defined viewing side. When both orientations are required, list the quantity for each version.
For sliding systems, show the moving panel, fixed panel, track location and closing direction. For hinged and pivot systems, show the hinge side, handle side and required swing clearance. Buyers can compare typical systems in the YFX shower enclosure range.
Specify Materials and Glass
List the required frame material, hardware material and glass specification. If the request is based on a current product, include the model link and note only the changes you need. If it is a new design, identify which parts must use aluminum profiles and which visible hardware components require a specific material.
For complete enclosures, define glass thickness, glass type, edge treatment and any holes or cut-outs shown on the drawing. Do not assume these details from the appearance of a reference photo. Final glass and machining requirements should be confirmed on an approved drawing before production.
Define Profile and Hardware Finish
State the required finish for profiles and hardware, such as a specified anodized, polished, brushed or powder-coated appearance where applicable. If colour matching is important, provide the colour reference and ask whether a physical sample is needed. Note which components must match and whether small colour differences between different materials are acceptable.

List Required Custom Features
Describe custom handles, profile sections, hole positions, seals, rollers, connectors or installation accessories. Use numbered callouts on the drawing and a matching specification list. If a component is optional, label it as optional rather than leaving its status unclear.
For packaging customization, provide the required carton marks, labels, manuals, barcode format and logo files. Identify which materials are supplied by the buyer and which should be prepared by the factory. Custom branding should be reviewed separately from the technical product drawing.
Provide Quantity and Packaging Details
List quantity by model, size, handing and finish. A total quantity without this breakdown is not enough for an accurate quotation. For mixed orders, use a simple schedule with one row for each configuration.
Explain how the goods will be handled after arrival. Project buyers may require set-by-set labels, while distributors may use model codes and warehouse barcodes. Packaging requirements can affect material use, carton dimensions and loading plans. Review the shipping and payment information before confirming order-specific terms.
Use a Controlled Approval Process
Give each drawing a document number, revision letter and date. When the factory returns comments, resolve every open point and issue a new revision. The final approved drawing, quotation and specification should refer to the same model and revision.
For a new or significantly modified design, a sample can confirm fit, operation, finish and packaging before a larger order. Record approved changes from the sample so that the production specification is clear. A dimensioned PDF is suitable for an initial review. You may also send CAD files when available, but include a PDF so the dimensions and revision can be checked consistently.

Can I request custom aluminum profiles?
